Hello everyone,
This is Matt Williams director of research for section 1 and i have all the updated information about the Focus groups for everyone. Today during our meeting, we meet with Mrs. Kimbrough and received some new input on how the focus groups should be put together. What we are going to do instead of doing a focus group for each individual topic that the classes came up with, we are going to do 6 focus groups in total that cover all of the topics during each focus group. The topics that i am talking about are as follows...
- Overall Image of COM
- E-News
- Events
- How do we promote awareness about COM website and get more people to use it.
- How do we improve communications within the COM
- How do we create a unified pride for the COM
- What do people think about the "REAL" branding
Note There will be one seperate focus group specifically to go over new t-shirt ideas.
A more specific list of topics and objectives will be provided soon to the moderators of the focus groups.
As stated there will be 6 Focus groups in total, 3 will be with undergraduate students and 3 will be with graduate students. We need to recruit 6-12 people for each focus group. For each scheduled focus group, we will have 1 moderator and 2 observers (instead of just having 1 moderator). Each focus group will also be recorded as we mentioned before. At the top of this page there are links for the tentative schedule for all the focus groups. Once we find out about room availability we will finalize the schedule. We need people to volunteer to be moderators and observers for the focus groups. Also the group of moderator and observers for each focus group will be in charge of doing their own recruiting for their specific focus group (with the help of the directors and other research members).
More information will be added over the weekend to the links above, as well as how we will go about recruiting for the focus groups
Thanks everyone for your help so far.
Matt Williams
Hello All!
This is Christina Johnson and I have some information about reserving rooms in Nelson. All we have to do is send an e-mail to Kim Orlowski and tell her the dates we need the rooms. She will then confirm with registration and records that the room is available in Nelson (if not we might get a room somewhere else). She advised us to:
- Reserve the rooms 28 hours in advance
- Keep in mind rooms in Nelson are mostly available on Mondays and Wednesdays after 4:30pm
So once we decide what dates we want the rooms I can e-mail her as soon as possible.
Also will we be designing the questions for focus groups and how many focus groups will be be conducting?
